![]() If the Night Owl only records on the NVR.Ģ TB NVR, USB looks to be in front, great location So if the Swann records at more than one location at the same time (Cloud and on the NVR) that is a big advantage over the Night Owl. If it is free storage outside the home, that seems to be an advantage just in case the crooks also steal the NVR. Not being a tech guy I'm not sure what the Cloud is and if that is free or paid. Swann has these features listed that Night Owl does not have listed: Swann 4K Ultra HD NVR Security System, 8 Channel 2TB NVR with 8 x 4K (8MP) Weatherproof Aluminum Surveillance Cameras IP66 rating, Smartphone Viewing, SWNVK-885808 Perhaps the cameras may be made by the same company in Asia and just rebranded in the USA. I reviewed both of their pdf manuals and it appears the Swann has more "features" listed. ![]() I need 24hr recording and prefer at least 4K 8MP so the Arlo Pro 2 would not work. The Swann is not at Costco, so I have to buy at Amazon (regular guy purchase I'm not a member there, not Prime member) so I don't get those advantages offered at Costco.Īt or near this low price range, Which of the two has better face and license plate detection at their claimed longest range? This would seem to be the primary purpose of the system and to preform some basic motion detection features. I see the Night Owl at Costco, buying from Costco adds 2 Years to the Warranty. Which of these two low end 4K 8MP systems are better, Swann or Night Owl? I know close to zero about this as a non tech hillbilly. Which is a better 4K 8MP Home Security system, Swann or Night Owl? Need buying advice
